Barely three days after South African Church collapsed during worship killing 13 people, at least 207 people have been confirmed dead after 8 explosions ripped through high-end hotels and churches in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday morning. The dead include 35 foreigners – from the UK, US and Netherlands, according to sources.

The suspected bombers reportedly blew themselves up.  About 450 people suffered various  injuries.

Sri Lanka’s Minister of Defence, Ruwan Wijewardena said investigations had established that the separate attacks were the work of a single group of suicide bombers.

The 8 separate explosions appeared timed to cause maximum casualties among Christians attending Easter services, sources say. Majority of the people in Sri Lanka are said to be Buddhists.
