Six gunmen kidnap four Turkish expatriates in Nigeria

Four Turkish expatriates were Saturday night abducted by suspected gunmen in Kwara State Nigeria, according to various Nigerian media sites. The expatriates were reportedly kidnapped at a local drinking joint in Gbale village, Edu local government area of Kwara State.

According to reports, the expatriates kidnapped are: Yasin Colak (33), Senerapal (40), Ergun Yurdakul (35) and Seyit Keklik (25). They were socializing and having a good time with their friends at the joint when six armed men struck at about 10.30pm and kidnapped them, according to reports.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the state Police command spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the state police commissioner, Kayode Egbetokun, had dispatched teams under operation Puff Adder to the area with a mandate to investigate and rescue the expatriates alive.

Nigerian new site, also reported that some gunmen killed two soldiers and abducted an expatriate who was on inspection duty at a road construction site in the Ukanafun council area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

The gunmen reportedly attacked in the afternoon of Wednesday, July 17, just as the expatriate engineer, working with a construction company, was inspecting the ‘Ikot Ibritam, Inen Ekeffe and Odoro Ikot to Ukanafun’ road project.
