So Mei-yan, 25, said three men broke into her apartment on Tuesday morning around 11am. They tied them up together with her 45-year-old nanny and then robbed her.

The robbers took off with nearly half a million dollars in valuables from her flat at One West Kowloon, a private housing estate in Hong Kong, according to the report.

The Instagram star managed to untie herself and sought help from a security guard to call the police after the robbers left.

Mei-yan told South China Morning Post she was “woken up by noise in the living room,” and that “when I went out of my bedroom to check, three men were already inside my flat.”

The incident was confirmed by police who said in a statement: “As the doorbell rang, the maid opened the door and three men rushed into the unit.” They said the bandits either had a “fruit knife or a wooden rod” in hand.

The Social Media influencer said she and her helper were tied up with adhesive tape, and the thieves then forced them into the baby’s bedroom, where one stood guard, while the other two searched the flat.

“I never beat my son,” Mei-yan later told South China Morning Post, “but [the robbers] dared beat him.”

“One of them returned and pulled my hair asking where I put my money,” she said.

But when she told them she didn’t have any cash at home, Mei-yan said one of the robbers punched her in the face.

Mei-yan is a powerful social media influencer in cosmetics products, according to reports. She frequently flaunts her wealth, lifestyle and possessions on Instagram.

In addition to posting luxury watches and handbags on social media, she is also fond of displaying large sums of money online, according to Yahoo! News

“Ten handbags, seven watches, a laptop computer, and two mobile phones were stolen in the incident,” police said in a statement. “The haul is worth about HK$3.6 million (US$464,000).”

The robbers put all the luxury loot into a suitcase and quickly fled the scene, the report said.

“The three men are so useless that they can only rob women and kids. They even beat a six-month-old baby boy, how shameless are they?”, Mei-yan reportedly said.

“I’ve told the security guards 10 million times not to let anyone in without my permission,” she fumed. “But they still allowed these three weird men in caps and masks to go upstairs”, she added.
