Over 50,000 college students have benefited from the Seplat Energy Pearls Quiz Competition in Edo and Delta States.
The competitors is an annual occasion organised by Seplat and its companions (NNPC) for secondary colleges in its host communities.
The 2022 version of the competitors held on the Imaguero Secondary School, Benin City, Edo State, on the weekend, was gained by Green Park Academy, Benin City in Edo State, who defeated Deeper Life High School, Warri, Delta State to the primary place to win a money prize of N10,000,000.00 sponsored challenge of their selection whereas the three taking part college students went dwelling with N100,000 scholarship fund.
The runner-up, Deeper Life High School, Warri, Delta State obtained N5,000,000.00 sponsored challenge of their selection with N75,000.00 scholarship going to the three taking part college students.
In the third place, the University of Benin Demonstration Secondary School, Benin City, Edo State beat International High School, Sapele, Delta State to win N3,000,000.00 sponsored challenge with N50,000.00 scholarship for every of the three taking part college students.
Speaking, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr Samson Ezegwuorie, stated the Seplat Energy Pearls Quiz Competition has touched over 50,000 college students throughout Edo and Delta States and that out of the quantity, many have gone by college schooling, some have achieved internship with Seplat Energy and a few are employed all around the world.
“When I was watching our students display today, I just told our senior partner that Nigeria is so blessed, that if we do the right thing, we won’t be just exporters of crude oil, but exporters of talents to the rest of the world against the brain drain we are witnessing today. Because we don’t have enough at home and we are servicing outsiders,” Ezegwuorie acknowledged.
Also talking, the Managing Director, Seplat Energy, Mr Ayodele Olatunde, stated the Seplat Energy Pearls Quiz competitors is an annual occasion opened for colleges in Edo and Delta States, which is aimed toward encouraging tutorial excellence among the many youths and to encourage these which can be hard-working and finally reward them.
“We need to verify tutorial excellence amongst our youths, and our future leaders. It is made to provide again to those who will signify us in future as leaders of at this time. Ours is to create an enabling surroundings.
Our goal is to show the youngsters find out how to win and win sustainably,” Olatunde stated.
Speaking, the Delta State governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, represented by the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Education, Mr Augustine Oghoro, stated the train will make a really optimistic impression on the scholars in quite a few methods and also will encourage them to take their research significantly.
