Disaster averted as firemen combat flames in loaded petrol tanker

Disaster was on Friday averted as a very loaded petrol tanker instantly went up in flames at Ugwuoba, a border metropolis in Enugu State, housing the Hausa group.

A provide acknowledged the incident occurred at noon when leakage in the tanker prompted a fire to erupt.

The fireside was, however, combated by males of the Anambra fireside service, who promptly arrived on the scene and battled the fireside.

Chief firefighter in Anambra, Mr Martin Agbili who confirmed the incident acknowledged the fireside was efficiently delay, after a combat by males of the command.

“At about 1100hrs (11am) of right now 28-10-2022, Anambra State Fire Service, Awka, Nigeria acquired a distress title of petrol tanker fireside alongside Enugu-Onitsha Expressway beside Ugwuoba Garki Market, Enugu State.

“The completely loaded tanker with 35,000 litres of petrol was parked alongside the road and instantly it caught fireside due to the petrol leakage from the very best of the tank by way of direct daylight.

“The tanker was saved, and the fire was also prevented from entering inside the main petrol tank. There was no loss of life.”
