EPL: It’s a painful one – Potter reveals why Chelsea lost 4-1 to Brighton

Chelsea supervisor, Graham Potter, has described their 4-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday as “painful”.

Potter lost on his return to the Amex simply seven weeks after he left for Stamford Bridge.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring earlier than two personal objectives from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Chalobah.

Although Kai Havertz pulled one again, Pascal Gross restored Brighton’s three-goal lead.

Potter, talking after the sport, stated: “Yes in fact the scoreline and the defeat is a painful one. We didn’t actually recuperate.

“Once the gang have been so engaged, it was a troublesome one for us. The scoreline was painful. Brighton performed a good sport, particularly within the first half.

“You can all the time take a look at objectives and suppose you are able to do higher. We have to take duty a bit within the first half. We have had a lot of soccer, however that’s no excuse. We couldn’t fairly get to that stage. We didn’t take our alternatives in assault and so they did.

“We had some opportunities to attack them too but unfortunately we missed the pass or didn’t execute, then the scoreline was a painful one. When you lose you can always do better.”
