Katsina Earmarks N1bn For Exams

The Katsina State authorities has earmarked over N1 billion for cost of examination charges for all ultimate 12 months college students that shall be writing their Senior School Certificate Examinations subsequent 12 months.

The commissioner for training, Prof Lawal Badamasi Charanchi, said this whereas denying an announcement from the National Rescue Movement Party (NRMP) signed by Hon Abubakar Bichi alleging that the state authorities did not pay the WAEC charges for college kids this 12 months.

According to the commissioner, Hon Bichi was blind to the efficiency of the state authorities within the training sector, particularly within the space of cost of scholars’ examination charges from 2015 to 2021, including that over N4.2 billion was spent in seven years for the cost of 399,550 college students’ examination charges within the state.

He added that the federal government had permitted the cost of N1.08 billion as examination charges for about 60,000 college students to be registered for subsequent 12 months’s WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS examinations.

The commissioner puzzled why the assertion was circulating within the media with out the writer verifying the true place of the state of affairs of training in Katsina State, including that it was a misrepresentation of the administration of Governor Aminu Bello Masari in training.
