NCC Warns Parents Against Children’s Exposure To Internet

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has urged mother and father and guardians to observe and handle the engagement of their kids on-line because the uncontrolled publicity to our on-line world is fraught with loads of negativities to kids’s wellbeing.

Contributing through the current First Web Rangers Nigeria Summit in Abuja, a Google’s initiative that focuses on growing digital literacy and equipping telecom shoppers with the information they require for his or her on-line security, govt vice chairman of the NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, mentioned it was crucial to know what kids do within the our on-line world.

At the summit, with the theme, “Navigating the Responsibility of Online Safety Between Users, Providers and Regulators”, which mentioned measures for addressing challenges posed by on-line legal actions as they have an effect on kids and the youth, Danbatta, represented by the director, New Media and Information Security (NMIS), Dr. Haru Alhassan, mentioned  the fee was dedicated to supporting the governance and safety of the nation’s our on-line world, in addition to facilitating the adoption of modern applied sciences and acquisition of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) abilities.

He mentioned the telecom regulator was conscious of the duties entrusted on it in guaranteeing security within the digital ecosystem, which knowledgeable its institution of NCC Computer Security Incidence Response Team (CSIRT) that was inaugurated in 2021.
