NDIC takes income savings campaign to secondary schools

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has taken the gospel of financial savings to faculty college students in secondary schools in Bauchi State to mark this 12 months’s World Savings Day.

The Corporation, whereas speaking with DAILY POST in Bauchi on the Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School, Bakari Dukku, acknowledged that the day, which is well-known on October thirty first, is to sensitise of us on the reason to put their money inside the monetary establishment.

While presenting a paper titled: “Savings prepare you for a better future” the Zonal Controller of NDIC, Ajiya Bah Zarma, urged the youthful period to copy the ’20:10:70′ model of saving.

“The model says you save 20 percent of your income, give 10 percent to charity and spend 70 percent on yourself,” he acknowledged.

He stated that the NDIC had started the renovation of 21 blocks of lecture rooms inside the faculty to make the tutorial ambiance conducive for school children of the school.

“World Savings Day is being celebrated yearly all over the place on this planet to create consciousness on savings and it’s a creation of the Bankers’ Committee.

“We are renovating about 21 lecture rooms. Before this time, do you have to observed this faculty, you will virtually shed tears because of the school was dilapidated. However, that is part of our intervention. It’s the little we’re ready to do to encourage, considerably female faculty college students.

“The trigger we launched the programme to this faculty is because of we want to catch them youthful.

“When you inculcate the habit of saving among children, there are lots of benefits,” she acknowledged.
