Police arrest notorious kidnapper in Jigawa

Police in Jigawa State have arrested a 42-year-old notorious kidnapper Abdulkadir Alhassan who has been terrorizing the state and Kano State.

The spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest in a press release issued to DAILY POST.

He stated the suspect was arrested on Tuesday at Sabon Sara village in the Ringim LGA.

Shiisu defined that the suspect is a notorious armed robber and kidnapper who has been prosecuted severally for theft circumstances.

“The suspected person has recently jumped bail in a case of criminal conspiracy and Armed Robbery at magistrate court Babura,” he stated.

He stated the suspect confessed to having kidnapped many individuals from each Jigawa and Kano states.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to having collected thousands and thousands of naira from victims’ households as ransom.

A police spokesman added that the suspect named a 45-year-old Alhassan Ya’u, aka Kato, from Dogamare village in Ringim LGA as their gang member.

The suspects might be charged to court docket after the investigation.
