An unknown explicit individual broke into Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home early Friday morning and “violently assaulted” her husband, the House speaker’s office said.
“The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation,” Pelosi’s office said in a Friday morning assertion, together with that her husband Paul was taken to the hospital, the place he “is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.”
The extent of his accidents simply is not immediately clear. Pelosi’s office said she was not in San Francisco at the time of the incident.
“The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time,” the office continued.
The San Francisco Police Department, US Capitol Police, and the US Secret Service did not immediately reply to Insider’s requests for comment.
