Veteran Nigerian singer, Salewa Abeni, has revealed that her marriage to her third husband whom she recently unveiled was not a secret.
She took everyone by surprise at the retirement and birthday ceremony of her husband, Rasheed Adahuns, when she disclosed that they have been a couple for 4 years.
At the glamourous event, Salawa paid glowing tributes to her spouse, who is the Comptroller and Commandant of the Customs Training College.
She had said; “I don’t have many words to utter other than to thank God. I will just say a bit about my dearest husband.
“You have retired but not tired, as God joined us together as husband and w!fe four years ago. I pray you will live long and have abundance.
“You saw me as a musician and I saw you then as a complete ‘English’ man, but love conquered all. I have not chosen wrongly.”
Many were stunned by the news as they were not aware that the ‘Pitch Perfect’ thespian has gotten remarried for the third time.
However, in a chat Saturday Beats, Salawa clarified that she did not keep the marriage a secret as she had informed the people who needed to know.
She said, “The event was my husband’s retirement and birthday ceremony. Who did I keep it (news of the marriage) away from? The people who knew, knew. I have confirmed to you that I am married, and that’s what is important.”
Before her current marriage, the singer had been involved with Lateef Adepoju, the owner of Leader Records, which she was then signed to; and a fellow musician, Ayinla Kollington.
