At least ten villagers have been confirmed dead in a fresh boat mishap that occurred on Thursday in Shiroro local council of Niger state.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that the boat had 34 occupants. It capsized en route from Zangoro Bassa/Kukoki Ward terminal to Gijiwa/Kato Ward terminal in Shiroro.
Officials of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA reported that Water hyacinth, strong waves, and a grafting tree contributed to the mishap.
This recent death has increased the number of deaths in 4 boat mishaps to 65 between September and November.
