2026 WCQ: South Africa coach unveils preliminary squad for Super Eagles clash

Bafana Bafana of South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos has named a 36-man preliminary squad for his side’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

Broos’ side will face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Friday, June 7.

The former African champions will then host neighbours Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday, 11 June, 2024.

The Belgian is expected to prune down the list to 23 in the next few days.

Bafana Bafana are second in Group C with three points from two games.

The Super Eagles occupy third position with two points from same number of matches.
